Doris Jean Jackson–Jedrzejak

She was born February 25, 1933 in Normal, IL to Lucien and Minnie (Lippert) Beard. She married Robert Jackson May 6, 1959. Robert passed away in 1981. She then married Walter Jedrzejak January 7, 1983. Walter passed in 1991.

Doris worked at Borg-Warner Corporation for 25 years in Bedford Park, IL. When they closed, she purchased DJ’s Place in Leroy, IL and ran it for 31 years.

She is survived by her children Marie ( Tim ) Albert of Leroy, Lucien ( Christy ) Jackson of Bloomington, grandchildren Amanda (Kyle ) Roberts of Mattoon, Madison Jackson of Bloomington and Nickolis Albert of Leroy, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters.

Doris was a much loved mother, aunt, grandmother and friend to many. She has very special friends, Lynne Haeffele , Connie Zimmerman, Kent and Sue Craner and Ed Kiper, Mark and Stephanie Williamson, and Jeff Harbison, and a wonderful niece Brenda Lawson.

Doris was a very generous, wonderful, and funny lady who would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She donated to many worthy causes in LeRoy and beyond.

There will be a celebration of life at DJ’s Place – 106 North Chestnut, LeRoy on Saturday, August 8th. Immediate family will attend from 2 pm until 3 pm; after 3 pm the event will be open to the public.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A funeral service will be held on August 22 at 11 am at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Road, Bloomington IL. Inurnment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Bloomington, IL.
