

Gloria A. Williams, 82, of Lincoln Towers in Bloomington, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Bloomington Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
She was born April 14, 1928 in Chicago, IL, to Leroy and Lelia VanSlette Forgue. At two months old, Gloria was placed in the Illinois Soldiers & Sailors Home. At age 8, David and Margaret Schieman of Chenoa took her to live with them and their son, David, who still resides in Chenoa. She was a 1946 graduate of Chenoa High School.
She married Henry L. Zirkel on October 31, 1947 and had five children, Gloria of AZ, David of UT, Zane of IA and Michael and Teresa, both of Illinois. She married Donald Williams on April 9, 1965, he preceded her in death on July 1, 2003 in Bloomington. Gloria was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and one grandson.
Also surviving are a brother, Kenneth Forgue of GA and 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
During her life, Gloria had several work careers, last with the IRS, retiring in 1991. Gloria was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Normal.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, followed by a short service at 6 p.m. Her son, Elder Zane Zirkel will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded.
