Gwendolyne J. Denniston

She was born on September 27, 1926 in Paxton, IL, the daughter of Edgar and Harriett Keith Henson. She married Donald R. Denniston, Sr. on June 15, 1947.

Surviving are three children, Karen (DeWayne) White of Quincy, IL; Donita Gillenwater of Bloomington; and Donald R. (Jo) Denniston, Jr. of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Christal (Rob) Carter of Quincy, IL; Nathan White of Palmyra, MO; and Adam (Nicole) Denniston of Palmyra, VA; three great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Yvonne Cottrell; and a son-in-law, Charles Gillenwater.

She worked at Country Companies for 28 years. She was also a member of the First Assembly of God in Bloomington/Normal for 45 years.

A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2016 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Rev. Adam Denniston will officiate. Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2016 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Entombment will follow the service at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
