Irene M. Long

Irene was born October 27, 1917 in Galesburg, to Kendrick and Flora Norris Boone. She married Paul Snyder in 1937. She later married Elmer Long November 4, 1940; he preceded her in death in 1991.

Surviving are 3 children, Carol (Frank) Ahrens, Utah, Louise (William) Madden, Downs, and Lee (Donna) Long, Florida; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by 2 sons, Louis Long and Thomas Long; 3 brothers, Galen, Herbert, and Martin; 1 grand daughter, Lynn, and 1 great-grandson, Ryan.

Memorial services for Irene will be held at 2pm Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Living Hope Christian Church, Downs. Cremation arrangements are in the care of East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington.

Irene enjoyed puzzles and reading. She enjoyed listening to music, especially country.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Hope Christian Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
