John "Jack" R. Henderson

John R. “Jack” Henderson, 74, of Danvers, passed away at 6:41 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

He was born April 23, 1937 in Peoria. He married Shirley Daugherty Able on December 6, 1991 in Bloomington. She preceded him in death on January 6, 1999 in Bloomington. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Darrell “Gene” Erps.

Surviving are two sons, Philip (Tammy) Henderson of Normal and Sean (Sabrina) Henderson of Chatham; five grandchildren, Jonathan and Jacob Henderson and Krystin, Kourtnee and Kyleigh Henderson. Also surviving is one brother, Wesley (Pauline) Erps of Bloomington and one half-sister, Beverly Jobe of Los Angeles, CA.

Jack was a United States Army Veteran.

He worked in concrete and masonry for over 20 years, retiring from JG Stewart in Bloomington in 1995.

Jack loved to fish and enjoyed jumping in his car and going for rides.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded and East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.
