

A private family graveside service will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded by East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington.

He was born on March 6, 1947 in Lafayette, IN, son of Harvey C. and Gertrude E. Hinkle Haynes. He married Sharon E. Reeves on September 10, 1966 in Lafayette, IN.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon of Bloomington; their two children, Todd (Tara) Haynes of Bloomington and Sara Haynes of Denver, CO. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Mitch (Rachel) Haynes, Carly (Noah) Legenski, Patrick Haynes, Ella Haynes and Nolan Anguiano; three great-grandchildren, Siena & Dominic Legenski and Charlotte Haynes; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of which held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and five sisters.
Rex worked for 38 years at State Farm Insurance Company, retiring as a data processor in 2004. He had a passion for reading, but his greatest enjoyment came with spending time with his grandchildren and attending their many extracurricular activities.
He was also a former member and past President of the Bloomington Lion's Club.
Rex's family will fondly remember him for his quick witted, sarcastic sense of humor. He was so loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
