Robert Thomas Landes

He was born May 13, 1929 to Lester and Iva (Hayes) Landes in Bloomington. He married Jacqueline Halsey on August 29, 1948. They were married for over 65 years.

He is survived by his son Rob Landes of Sundance, WY, daughter Jaye (Fred) Stielow of Heyworth; one granddaughter Julie (Jimmy) Ellis of Heyworth; two great granddaughters Avery and Audra; one aunt, Millie Schulz of Iowa; and his beloved dog Lexi.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, daughter Bonnie who died at birth, and his brother Clyde Landes.

Bob attended University High School graduating in 1947. While attending school he was a very talented athlete. He lettered in 3 sports, and was also named State of Illinois Allstate Quarterback of 1946. Bob was a member of the NRA, an avid golfer, and motorcycle enthusiast. After graduation he worked for State Farm for 40+ years until his retirement.

The family would like to thank Dale Harding, Bunny and Allie King, and Jim and Bernie Lindoerfer for being special friends to Bob and Lexi.

There will be a Private Family Service with entombment to follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. East Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.eastlawnmemorial.com.
