

He was born November 17, 1943 in Bloomington, IL, son of Chester W. and L. Pauline Settles Nottingham. His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are one step-son, Scott (Katie) Taylor of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Braxton and Chanler Taylor; one brother, Robert Nottingham of Bloomington and one sister, Susan Nottingham of Bloomington. Also surviving are three nieces, Robin (Jeff) Kaufman, Leslie (Bill) Reimer and Tami (Charlie) Blanchard; two nephews, Tim (Heather) Ogg and Tom (Jodi) Ogg and many great nieces and nephews.
Rod was a 1961 graduate of Normal Community High School. Through the years he maintained friendships with many classmates and he helped organize many parties at his home, “Rod’s Garage.”
He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving from 1961 until 1972.
Rod worked as an electrical engineer at Bridgestone, retiring in 2002. He was passionate about Corvettes and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at East Lawn Funeral Home, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. In honor of Rod, the family is requesting that all of his car enthusiast friends to bring their car to the funeral service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff in the ICU Department at OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center.
