Shirley Ann Bogott 82, of Bloomington passed away Thursday May 23, 2019 at Heritage Health of Normal. She was born September 18, 1936 to Raymond and Julia (Johnson) Smith in Sterling, IL. She married Danny Bogott April 17, 1955 in Rock Falls, Il. He preceded her in death. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grand-mother.
Left behind to cherish her memory are four daughters, Julie (Tom) Diller of Baton Rouge, LA, Jorja (Rick) Hanna of Northville, MI, Joni (Larry) Pinter of Bloomington, IL, Jeanette (Jim) Bystry of Vancouver, WA; one son, Daniel (Oksana) Bogott of Kingwood, TX; thirteen grandchildren, Matt (Michelle Greenhalgh) Diller, Shanna (Drew)Terry, Brooke (Dan) Frantz, Betsy Diller, Sasha Hanna, Ashley Hanna, Tyler (Kara) Pinter, Scott (Sara Rose Holding) Pinter, Erik Pinter, Jamie Bystry, Jacob Bystry, Amanda Bogott and Nicholas Bogott; three great-grandchildren, Tucker Frantz, Lainey Frantz, Madelynn Pinter; one brother, Donald Smith of Morrison, IL; three sister-in-laws, Rita Smith of Rock Falls, Leah Faye Kyger of West Chicago, IL, Beverly Partridge of League City, TX, and one brother-in-law, Lyle Bogott of Dixon, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Vernon Smith, grandchild Misha Hanna, and her brother and sister-in-laws.
Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Rock Falls High School and worked as a Manager for Princeton Cable for many years before her retirement.
She loved traveling and watching the Hallmark channel and HGTV. She was a beautiful seamstress and enjoyed making craft projects, and most of all, Shirley loved spending her time with her family and grandchildren and would be at most every extra-curricular event that they were part of. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Princeton, IL and attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Normal.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 12 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at East Lawn Funeral Home. Burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the Legacy and East wings at Heritage Health of Normal, and Transitions Hospice for all of their wonderful care during this time.
