

He was born February 6, 1937, in Chicago, IL to Ralph F. and Viola R. (Falconer) Schoenig. Tom married the love of his life, Judith Gallagher on July 8, 1961 in Chicago, IL. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp as a Sergeant.
Tom retired as President and CEO of Northwest Collectors in 2020, a company he co-founded in 1970. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and loved being outdoors, especially during warm weather where he could be on the family boat. He was very creative and capable, essentially remodeling the family home on his own, and sharing those skills with neighbors who would rely on his help.
Surviving are his loving spouse of 61 years, Judith Schoenig of Bloomington, IL; sons, Kenneth R. (Sandra) Schoenig of Bloomington, IL, Thomas R. (Abigail) Schoenig of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Kenneth Thomas Schoenig of Indianapolis, IN, Elyse Michelle of St. Louis, MO, Emily Judith of Bloomington, IL, Nicole Marie of Bloomington, IL, Madison Julia of McKinney, TX, and Savannah Detberner of McKinney, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Patricia Schoenig, and Gerald Patrick Schoenig.
Cremation rites have been accorded with East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023, at East Lawn Funeral Home. Military honors will follow the visitation at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
