Thomas Edward Thacker Sr.

He was born April 6, 1932 in Ironton, OH to John and Wilda (Waddel) Thacker. On April 19, 1954 in Richmond, IN he married Sylvia Hobell.

Tom served his country in the Army Air Corps and the Navy Reserve. He was a member of the American Legion in Normal. He loved to play Texas Hold ‘em and was a five time Trophy Holder at the Normal Senior Center.

Survivors include his children: Michael (Linda) Thacker of Minonk, Bruce A. Thacker of Normal, Jacelyn (David) Swehla of St. Louis, MO and William Thacker of Bonita Springs, FL; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sisters: Verla Young of Springfield, OH and Thelma Muirhead of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son: Thomas E. Thacker Jr. and sister: Patricia Gayle Herring.

Service will be at 1pm Tuesday January 6, 2015 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 1002 Airport Rd. Bloomington, IL 61704. Visitation will be one hour prior. Pastor Linda Thacker will officiate. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Home Sweet Home Missions, Bloomington, IL or Faith in Action, Normal Illinois.
