Vivian Lorraine Brown

Memorial services will be held at 10a Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Evenglow Lodge. Inurnment will be at Goodfarm Cemetery, rural Dwight. Arrangements are being handled by East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington.

She was born to Harvey and Mildred (Stevenson) Kime on August 6, 1920 in Goodfarm Township near Dwight. She married Herbert L. Brown in November 1943, who preceded her in death on February 18, 1980.

She originally worked for State Farm in Bloomington but eventually worked for over 20 years at Joliet Township High School as secretary to the Dean. She and “Brownie” were avid Square Dancers and traveled extensively to show off their “do-si-dos” before retiring to Ocala, Florida in 1980. She returned to her roots in Pontiac in 2004.

Lorraine is survived by her two sons, Kenneth L. (Bonnie) in Heyworth and Gerald D. (Patti) of Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Pemberton (Ernie) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Sharon Kime of Knoxville, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Merrel, and Earl L. Kime.
