

Bill was born July 29, 1917, in Bloomington, son of Thaddeus and Mary Hupman Weakley. He married Marcella Simmons on May 12, 1942, she survives. Also surviving are his sisters, Virginia Rengel, Lillian Thoman, Shirley Niepagen, Bonnie Slaughter, and Lynn Stewart. Bill is also survived by his daughter, Mary Beth Tobin of Bloomington and son William (Mary Ellen) Weakley of Ann Arbor, Michigan, 5 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grand Children.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Ruth Weakley, Betty Schneider, Josephine Bates, Francis Burkhart, Jean Tallon, and Peggy Niepagen.
Bill served in the Army during World War II, worked at East Bay Camp during the 1950’s, the Four Seasons Club when it first opened as an ice rink and Illinois State University in maintenance for 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and wood working. He was a Mason and enjoyed working as a volunteer for the Passion Play. He joined the VFW and Moose Lodge where he popped popcorn for BINGO for many years. Bill loved his family and was a cheerful man who will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be Wednesday September 2, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 10:00 AM and burial will take place at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Services will be officiated by Pastor Gary Ballard.
