

Alvah Clemon “Clem” Frields, age 59, of Bloomington, died Friday morning at the Bell Trace Health and Living Center. Born June 4, 1952, in Evansville, Indiana, he was the son of Alvah and Helen (Wiles) Frields. He was a self-employed general contractor and a member of Bloomington Eagles Lodge, Aerie #1085. He was a 1970 graduate of Bloomington High School South.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Hays) Frields, of Bloomington, whom he married in 1975; two daughters, Ashley Watters, of Indianapolis and Kari Irons, of Atsugi, Japan; one son, Jason Frields, of Bloomington; one sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Mike Harlow; and six grandchildren, Allison, Breanna, Evan, Hannah, Trivia, and Mya. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister, Brenda Pearl Frields.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel, with Rev. Alan Phillips officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the American Lung Association, 115 West Washington Street, Suite 1180-South, Indianapolis, IN, 46204.
