

Conna Mae Leydier, age 77, of Bloomington, formerly of the Vincennes area, died Tuesday afternoon at her residence. Born September 23, 1935 in Decker Chapel, Indiana, she was the daughter of Clifford Jerrell and Esthel Marie (Carson) VanLue. She had worked as a waitress at the Bloomington Country Club, a hostess for the Big Wheel Restaurant and later as a clerk for Jim’s Market at Airport Rd. and Hwy 45 in Bloomington.
Conna leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Staretta Jean and Richard Kelley, of Springville, Indiana; her son David Anthony Stremming, of Bloomington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy Waldo and Marilyn (Walters) VanLue, of Vincennes, Indiana and Rev. Jerry Gene and Diane (Wyatt) VanLue, of Danville, Indiana; five grandchildren and their spouses, Natalie Farr (Matthew), of Brookhaven, Mississippi, Nathaniel Kelley (Courtney), of Springville, Indiana, Shane Stremming (Carrie), of Bloomington, Shannon Vandeventer (Reuben), of Bloomington and Shanda Taylor (Jared), of Bloomington and nine great-grandchildren, Abigail Farr, Maileigh Farr, Brooklynn Kelley, Wyatt Kelley, Landon Stremming, Jacob Stremming, Mason Taylor, Hailey Vandeventer and Hannah Vandeventer.
Conna was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel Louis Leydier in May 1992, her mother in October 2001, one brother Billy Bruce VanLue in September 2002 and her father in August 2003.
A graveside burial will be on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary in Bloomington.
