Dale Martin Mingee

Dale Martin Mingee, 76, of Bloomington passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. He was born February 3, 1938 in Bloomington, IN the son of the late Ralph and Margaret Mingee.

Dale was a longtime member of Moose Lodge 1081, Eagle’s Lodge 1085, and the AM Vets Post 2000. Dale loved fishing, euchre, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved his nephew Timbo “Timmey Key”. He was like a dad for his nieces and nephews. He made sure he taught everyone how to drive a car at a very early age and how to swim. He loved his wife of 45 years, Marilyn Mingee. She was his rock to lean on. Marilyn took the best of care of her husband Dale. They were inseparable. Dale was very close with his brother Larry. They loved to play poker together and just enjoy each other’s company. Dale will be missed by his family, whom he loved with all his heart.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marilyn Mingee; his two sons, Michael and Randy Sipes; his brother, Larry Mingee; his three sisters, Joann Stone, Mary Brough and her husband Keith, and Carol Foster; special nieces and nephews; Tim Key and Susan Patton, Barbara Nugett, Debbie Key, and Evelyn Sue Key; and many other beloved nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Mingee.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel, 700 W. Gourley Pike. Interment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2014 at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel.
