

Debbie Kay Deckard, age 62, of Heltonville, died Monday evening, March 20 at the I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospice House. Born February 24, 1955 in Greencastle, Indiana, she was the daughter of Carl and Evelyn (Terrell) Young. Debbie worked as a sales associate at the Bloomington Wal-Mart for 17 years. She loved to collect any items associated with wolves or lighthouses with separate rooms in her home dedicated to each. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed rides in her dune buggy.
Debbie is survived by her loving family; her husband, Michael D. Deckard, Sr.; two sons, Michael D. (Rachel) Deckard, Jr. and Rusty (Jayme) Deckard, all of Heltonville; two sisters, Kathy (Fred) Hamm, of Solsberry and Carla (Mike) Criss, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; nine grandchildren, Samantha Rector, Jeffrey Deckard, Dakota Deckard, Cierra Conoway, Felicity Blevins, Sapphire Deckard, Daniel Deckard, Dylan Deckard and Kyleigh Deckard and three grandchildren, Maddie, Isaac and Kenton. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel with Pastors Randy McVey and Greg Eads officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with the funeral expenses.
