Dianna Ruth Capps, age 68, of Bloomington passed away Tuesday (02/25/2020) at the I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born February 25, 1952 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of James and Juanita (Jewel) Hoopingarner. Dianna attended Bloomington High School and worked until she retired from Bloomington Hospital where she was a care technician and phlebotomist. Dianna enjoyed woodworking, being with family, cooking, road trips and watching her television series of shows dealing with the paranormal.
Dianna is survived by her son, John Capps, Jr., of Bloomington; two daughters, Deanna Hawkins and Chastity (Richard) Dalton, both of Bloomington, her sister, Vicky (Leroy) Porter, of Bloomington, step-sister, Paula Hammerstein, of Bedford, favorite uncle, Leon Robertson, of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Nicole Hoggatt, Sabrina (James) Isom, Weston Dalton, Stormy (Tammy) McCarthy and Lindsey Capps; eight great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn, Harmony, Aiden, Paisley, Raelynn, Dillon and Noah, several cousins, nieces and nephews and her pet German Shepherd, Sheebia.
Dianna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John David Capps, Sr. on Nov. 24, 1994, grandparents, Homer and Mabel Robertson, two granddaughters, Odessia Hoggatt and Brittany Sater and her brother, Ronald Hoopingarner, formerly of New York.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday (03/03/2020) at 10:00 a.m. at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel; 700 W. Gourley Pike. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
