Evelyn Jean Payne

Evelyn Jean Payne, 89, of Bloomington passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019. She was born December 9, 1929 in London, Kentucky the daughter of the late Otto and Elise Smith. Evelyn was a member of Highland Faith Assembly of God Church. She retired from RCA. She enjoyed Bingo, baking, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed. Evelyn is survived by her four daughters, Juawon Gardner, Joyce Trenta and her husband Mark, Betty Riat and her husband David, and Patsy Link; five grandchildren, Kristie English, Jeremy Trenta, Josh Link, Teresa Drake, and Tracy Shelton. Fourteen great grandchildren; and twelve great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Payne; her son, Bobby Payne; a grandson, Timmy Rodman; a great grandson, Josh Gardner; a brother, Herman Smith and son-in-law Rick Gardner. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday October 20, 2019 at Deremiah Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel, officiated by Pastor Richard Deckard. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2019 at Rose Hill Cemetery.
