

Herman “Leon” McArtor, 83, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully at Bell Trace Health and Living on Friday, April 28, 2017. He was born on February 12, 1934 in Bloomington to Herman McArtor and Madge Bradfield McArtor. He was retired from RCA with 35 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Beverly McArtor; three daughters, Veryleana McArtor, Jennifer McArtor, both of Bloomington and Kimberly Wallace (husband Terry) of Solsberry; two sisters, Vera McArtor Mathis and Jean McArtor Johns; three grandchildren, David Armes (wife Chrissy), Cassandra Abts (husband William) and Nicole Armes; and two great grandchildren, Trevor Owens and Audrey Abts. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tabitha Armes; and two brothers, Doyle McArtor and Ernest McArtor.
Leon was of the Christian Faith. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served as an Armor Crewman from 1959 to 1961. He loved country music and was proficient with several string instruments and often played music with friends.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel, 700 W Gourley Pike. Friends may visit the family prior to services from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.
