

James Edwin “Jim” Knapp, 82, of Bloomington, IN passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Golden Living Center. He was born December 29, 1934 in Bloomington, IN the son of the late Chi and Margaret Knapp.
Jim was a member for over 50 years of the Bloomington Monroe Masonic Lodge # 22. He graduated from Bloomington High School. While in high school he was state champion in Tennis for 3 years in a row. He also helped establish The Boys Club of America with his fellow classmates who appeared before the city council in Bloomington.
Jim enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Jim is survived by his two sons, Rickey and Randy Knapp; his sister, Pat McVicker; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Knapp; and three sons, Jim, Gary, and Kevin Knapp.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Clear Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
