Jerry Duane Funkhouser

Jerry Duane Funkhouser, age 83, of Hendricksville, passed away Saturday evening, September 17, 2022 at I.U. Health;Bloomington Hospital. Born February 14, 1939 in Monroe County, Indiana, he was the son of Alonzo Preston and Nira Ilene (Abrams) Funkhouser. Jerry retired in maintenance at Otis Elevator. He was a member of Solsberry Masonic Lodge #411 and enjoyed restoring old cars and woodworking. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharron (Martin) Funkhouser, of Hendricksville, one daughter and son-in-law, Jeri Kay Funkhouser Sparks and Rick Sparks, of Hendricksville, one brother, Randy Funkhouser, of Bloomfield, Indiana and one grandson, Aiden Preston Sparks. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter, Daphne Deeann Funkhouser. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel; 700 W. Gourley Pike with Pastor Deron Colgan officiating. Entombment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Masonic memorial service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:45 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the American Diabetes Association or the I.U.
