Katherine Ann Spiess

Katherine “Kathy” Ann Spiess, passed away peacefully in I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 27, 1952 to the late Marvin and Ellen Louise (Mathis) Elkins in Bloomington, Indiana. Kathy lived and worked in Bloomington her entire life. She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1970. After graduation she had several jobs, including working as an assembler at Cook Medical for many years. She met and married the love of her life Arthur Spiess in Bedford, Indiana on January 27, 1995. They were happily married for 24 years. Kathy leaves behind her loving husband Arthur, her sister; Brenda Neal and her brother; Bryan (wife Gloria) Elkins and several nieces and nephews and her two best friends; B.J. Wright and Denise Houghelin. She was preceded in death by two sisters; Marsha Jean Williams and Beverly Jo Bultman and one brother; Bill Elkins. Friends may call on the family on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 2 p.m. in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel, 700 W. Gourley Pike, Bloomington, Indiana 47404. Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Kathy.
