Robert Eugene Ayers

Robert “Bob” Eugene Ayers, 88, of Bloomington died Thursday, May 9, 2019 in Allisonville Meadows Nursing Home. He was born October 1, 1930 in Bloomington to Vernal Ayers and Ethel Mobley Ayers. He was retired from the Bloomington Herald Times. Survivors include a grandson Bradley Ayers of Fishers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rebecca Nell Ayers; a son, Scott Ayers; and a brother, Austin Ayers. Bob was a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating on Lake Monroe, watching any type of sports, especially I. U. Basketball and Football and the Colts. He would volunteer at I.U. sporting events so he could watch the games in person. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 12:00 noon in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 700 W Gourley Pike, burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. There will be a time of visitation 1 hour prior to services on Tuesday.
