

Robert Eugene “Stubby” Stubblefield of Ellettsville, died unexpectedly in I.U. Health Hospital after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. He was the son of the late Charles and Audrey(Pruett)Stubblefield, born on November 13, 1947 in Bloomington, IN.
Bob was a graduate of Edgewood High School and a Vietnam US Army veteran where he received the Bronze Service Star for expert marksman. After returning home from Vietnam, he decided that Monroe County was the best place to live. He began working at GE as an assembler, retired as a controller in 2005 after 38 years of service.
Bob loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying boating, fishing, camping, hunting and working in his garden.
Bob is survived by his children: Amber(Bret Morris)Stubblefield and Kyle(Michelle) Stubblefield, his fiancé Beth Clemons, two step-children: Chasity(Hector)Molina and Joshua Vestal, two sisters: Phyllis(Charlie)Corneous, and Beverly(Leon) McArtor and his adopted son: Tyler Waltz.
He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Seth Morris, Ray Vestal, Tyrese Molina, Kennedy Stubblefield, Ashley Vestal, Noelia Molina, Gracie Morris and Kristen Vestal.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Audrey Stubblefield, one twin brother: David Stubblefield, two uncles: Bob Pruett and Melvin Pruett.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 700 W. Gourley Pike, Bloomington, IN 47404. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 1 p.m. also in the funeral home with Rev. John Baker officiating. Burial with military honors performed by the Monroe County Veterans Honor Guard in Chambersville Cemetery.
