

Roxie Mae Bell, age 88, of Bloomington, died Tuesday afternoon at the I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospice House. She was born May 8, 1926 in Bloomington, the daughter of Joseph Hershel and Mamie A. (Robertson) Porter. She worked as a cook for Indiana University and later for Frosted Foods as a meat processor. She enjoyed working puzzles, playing cards, cooking for her family and spending time with her loved ones. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Bonnie Bell, of Bloomington, David and Rachel Bell, of Selmer, Tennessee and Jack and Charlotte Bell, of Ellettsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and James Cantrell, of Ormand Beach, Florida; one sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Joe Whitaker, of Bloomington; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Phyllis Porter, of Bloomington, nineteen grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Michael Bell, one son, Michael Bell; two daughters-in-law, Donna Bell and Debbie Bell; three grandsons, Jacob Posey, William L. Bell and David Lee Bell, Jr. and one great-granddaughter, Haley D. Bell.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel; 700 W. Gourley Pike with Pastor Dawn Wild officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Deremiah-Frye Mortuary to help the family with the funeral expenses.
