

Stephen Lee Simmons, age 60, of Bloomington, died Monday morning at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born January 9, 1953 in Bloomington, he was the son of Richard Paul and Martha Louise (Anderson) Simmons. He retired two years ago from the Indiana University Central Stores where he worked as a supervisor. He liked listening to the “oldies” music and coin collecting. He attended Great Harvest Ministry Center along with his wife, Roberta. He graduated in 1971 from University High School.
He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta (Nichols) Simmons, of Bloomington; his mother, Martha Simmons, of Ft. Worth, Texas, formerly of Bloomington; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Jarrod Lee and LaDena Simmons, of Bloomington and Casey Dale and Mandy Simmons, of Nashville, Indiana; one sister and brother-in-law, Joy and David Petty, of Ft. Worth, Texas; three brothers, Roger Simmons (Nancy Burger), of Fremont, California and Randall Simmons and Danny Simmons, both of Ft. Worth, Texas; his former sister-in-law, Sandy Simmons, of Gainesville, Florida and six grandchildren, Ricey Norman, Kirsten Simmons, Casey Simmons, Jr., Kaitlyn Simmons, Aaliyah Favors and Layla Simmons. He was preceded in death by his father.
The funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Thursday at the Great Harvest Ministry Center with Pastor Tony Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to 12 Noon at the ministry center.
