William H. “Willie” Stone, age 79, of Bloomington, died Tuesday morning at the Bloomington Nursing and Rehab Center. Born September 1, 1938 in Bloomington, he was the son of James Cordell and Mattie (Nickless) Stone. He had formerly worked for the City of Bloomington Sanitation Dept.
Willie is survived by his two sisters, Mary May Frye, of Freedom and Jeweldine Stone, of Bloomington, one sister-in-law, Edith Joan Stone, of Bloomington, several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James Stone and his twin sister Roma Copenhaver and two other sisters, Ruby Livingston and Pearl Holman.
The funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel with Bro. Michael Douglas officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the White Oak Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
