Ashley Marie Hegland

Beloved daughter of Dr. Thomas and Patti Hegland and Dawn and Bay Riggins, Cherished sister of Thomas (T.J.), Brooke and Nichole, Precious granddaughter of Ruth Jackson, Loved by several aunts, uncles and cousins, Friend of too many to even begin to list.

Ashley was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Boca Raton High School and a member of their swim team. She then continued her education graduating from Palm Beach State College. Ashley became a deputy sheriff with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office in 2012, quickly moving up to detective in 2019. Some of our comfort we have is the laughter remembering the tales she would share from her undercover work. She served in honor guard proudly standing by her fallen colleagues. She was a member of the Police Benevolent Association. She was a hero to many and a protector to all.

A Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 5pm-8pm at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home 1100 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33432.

A Mass of the Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 10:30am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 370 SW 3 St., Boca Raton, FL 33432 with Burial to follow immediately after Mass at Boca Raton Cemetery at 11:30am, 449 SW 4 Ave., Boca Raton, FL 33432.
