Clyde Jordan was born in North Adams, MA in 1927, the only son of Cyril and Marianne Jordan. Clyde served this Nation in the Navy during WWII aboard a minesweeper in the Pacific Theatre, and joined again for the Korean Conflict aboard an aircraft carrier. After the war, Clyde married Patricia Cleary of New York City and they made their home in Rockland County, NY where they raised 5 children. He started his career as the first "flying paymaster" for New York Trap Rock delivering weekly paychecks by helicopter to barges along 85 miles of the Hudson River cliffs. Clyde stayed and advanced in the rock quarry industry his entire working career, and then retired and moved to Boca Raton with his wife in 1998. Clyde and Patricia celebrated their 50-year anniversary and then he lost the love of his life in 2003. He remained in his Brentwood home where he continued to enjoy volunteering in the community they both loved until a few weeks before his death. Clyde is survived by his children, Richard and Catherine Jordan, Robert and LeaAnn Jordan, Patricia and Philip Greenwald, Debra and Joseph Allalouf, and Barbara Jordan; his grandchildren, Jesse, Meghan, Jacqueline, Jason, Alex, Rachel, and Chelsea; and great grandchildren, Mary, Elaina, Jonathan, Conner and Logan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Autism Speaks or American Cancer Society. Arrangements under the direction of Babione Funeral Home, Boca Raton, FL.
