This is shocking to say the least. I was trying to connect with Deep. He had hired me at BNP Paribas and we share some very special background all the way back from Deep's ancestral background, his marriage in India and career.

He was a mentor and an elder brother to me. 
One of the smartest guys always looking to help anybody.

I'm very sorry to have heard about Deep's passing.  We haven't spoken in many years, mostly because of geographic distances, but I remember him fondly.  He was always kind to me and quick with a laugh, but the laugh didn't hide his fierce intellect and integrity.  God bless him and may god bless his family.

I absolutely enjoyed my conversations with Deep over the years and learned a great deal from him.  What an incredible thinker on markets, an expert in his craft. He had such a clear way of explaining complex topics and was just so nice to interact with and share ideas. It was very exciting to see him and team launch the new fund.  Deep will be missed. I worked with Deep many years ago and he was the best mentor and boss that I’d had up to that point and ever since. His intellect and piercing knowledge were deeply inspiring and I found his empathy and dedication to being a good person even more so.

I had the privilege of meeting Deep close to 30 years ago. He took the time to guide me and selflessly helped launch my career in trading. We remained good friends through the years and when it came time for me to repay his kindness as he fulfilled his dream of launching his own firm, I was delighted to help. 

Deep was a treasure of a man. Kind, intelligent, loving to his family, ethical to an immeasurable standard. I was privileged to call him my friend and I will miss his boisterous laugh and wonderful smile.

Our hearts are with you at this time. Deep always wore a bright smile and had a silly thing to say. We remember waving to him as he sped off in his fancy car to work, or maybe to the airport for a business trip overseas.  He always seemed to enjoy sitting outside and giving candy out to the kids on Halloween. I also have to admit, catching a glimpse of what he was watching on his big screen tv in his office that we could view from our upstairs loft.

I had the honour of first meeting Deep through work over 20 years ago. He was always great company and a very rare combination of intellect and boyish humour. Talking to him has always been a pleasure and he had an ability to make everyone feel valued. Deep, we will miss you.

Deepak was a dear family friend growing up in England. I recall attending these family functions in Birmingham and he would  light up the party with his funny jokes and stories , all the aunties loved him ! Deepak was full of life and joy , thats  how I will always remember him .

When I first met Deep in 2008, we quickly realized that our grandfathers were from the same village  Ranchi, and were friends. Out of a billion people the chances we met always made me feel like it was fate.
Deep means light and shine he certainly did. Deep was brilliant, humble. genuine and hilarious but perhaps his greatest gift was his unique ability to feel where you were at and cheer you up with his spirit. smile and bad jokes.
We spent many memorable Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter meals together. He was always the light of the table. 
A gem of a man, an incredible father and husband, and for me one of the best friends I have had. Deep, my rakhi brother, I will miss you. Thank you for sharing your light with us.

We were very grateful to meet Deep and his family during my brother’s wedding last year. 
We got to know Deep during the event and we discovered his extreme kindness and modesty. We had highly appreciated our discussions and sharing similar values such as family.

Deepak was like a brother and a very dear friend. He was fiercely intelligent, funny and quick-witted. There was always a twinkle in his eyes. He was very close to his parents and family. When I came to UK from India I was  in awe of him for he was a student  at Cambridge the most prestigious university in the world. When I cleared  my exams in quick succession I remember him telling me that I was a brainiac, a term I had never heard before. This was his humility and showed his funny character.  There are so many memories of him which I shall  treasure.  He was endearing and an affectionate person. We have lost a lovely human being.

What a tragic loss of a brilliant man.  A kind and gentle soul.

My favorite memory of Deep is from years ago when I came upon a car accident at the corner of Spanish River and Military Trail on a weekend afternoon.  I couldn’t believe my eyes but as I approached there was a man sitting on the curb comforting a young woman who had been in one of the cars.   Deep must have arrived shortly after the incident occurred and without hesitation, he stopped and offered to help a complete stranger in need.  THAT epitomized Deep.   A citizen of the world doing what he could to assist another human in a difficult situation.  There are very few people on the planet like him.  We are all very lucky that he touched our lives.  Bob

We'll always cherish that dinner we had to get know each other better. Deep had a knack for turning even the simplest moments into something memorable - his stories were as hilarious as they were insightful. whether he was cracking jokes or sharing his unique perspectives, he has an incredible ability to make us all feel connected and valued.

While we mourn his loss, let's also celebrate the legacy of laughter and brilliance he leaves behind. His spirit will live on in the memories we created together.

Deep, I was truly shocked to hear the sad news your kind soul has moved on and send my deepest condolences to Nidhi and Avanti whose loss at this time is unimaginable. There are very few people with your knowledge, wisdom and humility, fewer still with your level of patience, energy and humor, willing to share their experiences in a most humble and simplistic manner. You were a great inspiration and mentor to me when we worked together many years ago and though our interactions became infrequent over the years I have always appreciated and treasured our experiences together. You will be greatly missed.

Sending my sincerest condolences to the Kumar family at such a difficult time. It was a privilege getting to know Deep while at AVM. He always made time to explain his ideas and strategies, balancing his seriousness with a "math" sense of humor. March 14 (Pi Day) was always one of his favorites to engage the office. Deep will be remembered with great fondness.

I had the pleasure of working with Deep at AVM/III in the early 2000s. Deep was instantly likeable with a down to earth attitude and good sense of humor. I am forever grateful to Deep for taking time to teach me about fixed incomes derivatives. He was like a wise professor and I always enjoyed our time working together. My sincerest condolences to Deep's family, friends and colleagues. He will be missed.

We’re all passing through this life, and when I think about my journey, I feel blessed for having Deep been a part of it.    

Deep was a teacher, mentor, gentleman, friend, and part time comedian (sort of).  

Deep was a gifted teacher who could explain the most advanced concept into something intelligible and without losing translation.  And it didn’t matter the medium.  Spoken, white-board, or presentation slides.  Deep had a knack for pitch perfect communication.  Another wonderful thing about knowing Deep for as long as I did was seeing the incredible results of his mentorship.  In a way, he scripted his own version of Mr. Holland’s Opus.  Deep’s mentorship was formative to so many and the great thing about mentorship – it’s unforgettable and everlasting.  Deep was a gentlemen.  In his manners and in his caring.  His parents would be proud, and from what I knew of Deep, he more than passed this on as husband and father.  And Deep was a friend. I will miss our road trips and fun times.  Ah the part time comedian. . . Deep’s sense of humor – often times a hit, many times a miss - but never failing to break the ice or bring a smile – no matter the setting.  Deep, you will be missed.

Hi Nidhi, Avanti,  Deep was, is so proud of you guys. I remember when I met you for the first time ~15yrs ago, I could sense his pride and I know it never dissipated. I know you will keep that inside for it to give you strength forever.  Maya Angelou said people don't remember what you said or what you did. They remember how you made them feel.  Deep could be righteous one minute, caring and courteous another moment, you knew what he was thinking, he was refreshingly direct. He had a sense of justice and tried to do do right. And his sense of humor  - always ready to laugh.  It was a pleasure to work with him. He lives on in his impact on all.

The principals and staff of III Capital Management are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our former partner and friend, Deep.  

Deep was an integral part of the III family for almost 20 years, and he was a major contributor to our growth and success over that time.  A constant source of energy, Deep led by example with his tremendous work ethic and attention to detail. Deep was a great colleague, he had patience, kindness, humbleness and was very happy to take time and explain trades.  He also became a great squash player, and I enjoyed those early morning games followed by tea.  He will be greatly missed.

Deep was possibly the kindest man I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. It was always a treat to see him especially as a kid. Every time he'd see me he'd  remind me that my nose made a funny honking sound when pinched. Naturally as a child, I was astonished that Deep was the only person who could create this sound every time he pinched my nose. I don't think I could physically count the amount of times I tried it myself to no avail. But for some reason every time Deep would try, like clockwork, the honking sound would come back. Sometimes, I would even interrupt my Dad when I knew he was speaking with Deep, which was basically every single day, just to ask why the honking sound didn't work for me. I am embarrassed to admit it took much longer than you'd think for me to figure out he was making the honking sound himself, but by then it didn't seem to matter. He was still the only one who could do it right. 

Deep left such an impact on everybody around him and the fact he always went above and beyond to make everyone feel appreciated never went unnoticed. Thank you so much for everything you've done for my family and me. Absolute legend.

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Deep’s wife, daughter, family and friends.  Deep's kindness, encouragement, and love for teaching helped me gain confidence in my career early on.  I am so grateful to have remained friends over the years.   Deep, you will never be forgotten.

His latest joke while on garden leave, "if you ever need a 'KUBER' while in Boca, I'm off for the next couple of weeks"... the KUBER might just have to stick for me.

Deep, you were the best of us. I met you for the first time via my brother, Francis well over a decade ago, and we became friends ourselves. You always had a smile on your face and were always helping someone. But most of all I remember your boyish and infectious good humour, even under the most stressful work times. Like the time you asked Francis and I to standby as you had an important announcement to make. We waited, and then you messaged us with the news that the voting for the Alaskan Fat Bear contest was about to end and that your favoured bear “ChubbyCub” in the “cub category” was falling behind in the race. You helpfully provided a link, telling us “time was of the essence”. I still have that link and, Deep, I will be casting my vote every year from now on in your memory. 
I’m going to miss you so much, mate. Thank you for your friendship and for the joy you brought into all of our lives. By the way if anyone wants the link just let me or Francis know and we will send it to you.  After all time is of the essence.

Deep brought joy and kindness to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was funny, always smiling and could brighten any room with  his entrance . I remember us both laughing and hugging on a squash court in Boca and many fun get together’s in London.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Nidhi, Avanti, and family, I am so sorry. My friend and mentor for 20+ years was a remarkable man in so many ways. His passion for markets was surpassed only by his love and dedication to his family and friends. His sense of humor, both sharp and childish, meant he could always take a difficult situation and find a joke to make people smile, the cornier the better!  His work ethic was second to none, and his compassion for and appreciation of all he came in contact with made the world a better place. He will be forever missed and never forgotten.

I have known Deep for only a couple of years, first as his lawyer, then as his friend. What strikes me most about these posts is that they all focus on the same characteristics of kindness, gentleness, smartness and competitiveness. He was a truly wonderful person. Even when matters were challenging, Deep found calm and levity. I will miss him.

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Deep’s friends and family.  I met Deep only last year for dinner - he seemed so bright, energetic, and excited for the future with launching his own firm. He talked with enthusiasm about how proud he was of his heritage and how much he adored his daughter. His knowledge, drive, and passion for investing was remarkable. He was a gentleman, an intellectual powerhouse, a visionary, and above all, he was a good man.  I wish he had more time to enjoy the fruits of his hard work and dedication to his craft. Evan and I are deeply saddened by the news of Deep’s passing.  What a tremendous loss for so many of us who had the chance to know him over the years. Deep, or ‘Mr.Deep’ as I knew him for most of my life, was truly such a warm and kindhearted person. For as long as I can remember, he’s always been in a good mood with a ginormous smile on his face. He lit up every room he walked into and managed to

Terra Greyson and I are saddened by this shocking news.   Our deepest condolences go out to Nidhi and Avanti and the entire Kumar family.    

I was lucky to have worked with Deep for 15+ years at AVM.  Deep can only be described as a force of nature. He was a brilliant, tireless, competitive leader and friend.  Fun loving, kind, and tough all at once. 

I had lost touch with him after he moved on from our firm recently, but his impact and  influence have left a permanent mark on AVM and everyone he worked with along the way.   We will miss you Deep!
