Denise Gail Domino (Enzor), a one-of-a-kind daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 9, 2026, after a courageous 29-month battle with ALS.
Denise was born on August 19, 1965, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Jimmy and Gail Enzor (Miller). She grew up in Deerfield Beach and attended Highlands Christian Academy from kindergarten through twelfth grade, graduating in 1983. During her years at HCA, Denise was known for her bubbly personality, her love of friends, and her enthusiastic presence as cheer captain, cheering at both soccer and basketball games.
It was at HCA, in Typing class, that Denise first met the love of her life, Don Domino, though their story would take a little time to unfold. Denise and “Donny,” as she lovingly called him, began dating in 1987 and were married on July 23, 1988, beginning a beautiful life together rooted in love, sports, and family. Together they raised three children: Derek (Jenna), Drew (Ana), and Danielle where Denise often said that her children were her greatest accomplishment, and she took immense pride in the people they became.
Denise’s family was the center of her world. She spent countless hours in gyms and on football fields, cheering very loudly for her children and doing the scorebook. One of her greatest joys came from being “Dma” to her beloved grandchildren, Theo, Halle, and Reese (Derek/Jenna), and one on the way, Walker (Drew/Ana). Denise enjoyed playing with them, spoiling them, and loving them unconditionally.
Along with her deep love for family, Denise was known for the little joys that made her her. She had a well-known love for sweets, never passed up a Dunkin’ Donuts run for iced coffee, and believed wholeheartedly that having her hair done was simply non-negotiable. She also had a special place in her heart for chocolate Labrador retrievers, whose loyal and affectionate nature mirrored her own. Whether she was heading to a game, a gathering, or just out for the day, Denise made sure she was put together, a small reflection of the pride and care she carried into every part of her life.
Denise’s affectious laugh and outgoing personality lit up every room she entered. She was known for her kindness, uplifting spirit, and undeniable love for her family and friends, along with her faith and strength that never wavered, even in life’s greatest challenges. After being diagnosed with ALS in August 2023, Denise remained the most optimistic person in the room, often comforting others when she was the one facing the hardest battle. Even in her final days, she was coordinating family meals and ensuring that everything and everybody was taken care of. Her selflessness, determination, and grace were evident from the moment of diagnosis until the very end, reflecting the way she lived her entire life: lifting others up and caring deeply for those around her.
Denise’s legacy of love, laughter, and family will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her. Her wish for those she leaves behind is simple: to live a happy life, as that is the greatest way to honor her and keep her memory alive.
