

Dolores Mae (nee Carbadella) Bivona, aged 94, died peacefully and surrounded by family at Hospice by the Sea on August 31, 2024. She was born on January 16, 1930, to Paul and Elizabeth Carbadella, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Her family moved to Long Island City, NY, in 1937. She married the love of her life, Melchiore (Mitchy) Bivona on June 23, 1951. They were married for 48 years and had three sons.
She loved to dance, play cards, travel and spend time with family and friends. Dolores will always be remembered for her loving spirit and selflessness, her delicious homemade sauce and meatballs, and her butter cookies. She always had a smile on her face and could make people laugh. She loved doing her crossword puzzles, playing poker games, watching old movies and listening to music. She was extremely proud of and known to her 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren as Nana.
A visitation celebration of life will be held at Babione Funeral Home at 10060 Calle Comercio Drive, in Boca Raton, Florida, 33428, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wake funeral service begins at 6pm. Flowers may be sent to this location. She will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemeteries, 1500 South State Road Seven, North Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33068.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitch Bivona, her brother, Paul Carbadella and sister, Rosemarie Evershed. She is survived by her two sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Tisei and Shirley Ruscio, her son, Ronald Bivona and wife, Deborah, son, Mitchell Bivona and wife, Janelle, son, Gary Bivona and wife, Kimberly, 8 grandchildren: Lauren Bivona, Christopher Bivona, Jennifer Wodicka, Nicholas Bivona, Tasha Misenheimer, David Bivona, Mitchell Bivona and Amy Bivona, and 13 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
