Josephine “Josie” Marturana, 60, of Boca Raton, FL passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 following a short stay at hospice care. Although born with Down Syndrome and expected to have a short life in 1954, Josie defied the odds and brought decades of joy to her family and all who knew her. As one of five siblings, she continues to teach us to live life fully, laugh continuously, to dance and love. She will be dearly missed. Josie was predeceased by her parents Carmelo and Anna Marturana. She is survived by her brothers, (Sib) Sebastian Marturana (Judith) of MA, Carmelo Marturana (Mary Ann) of Boynton Beach, and Joseph Marturana (Connie) of Boynton Beach, her sister Rosetta Turdo (Castrenze) of MO, along with many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Babione – Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 North Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M on Monday, September 28, 2015 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 501 SW 3rd Ave, Boca Raton, FL 33432. Entombment will immediately follow at Boca Raton Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics at www.specialolympics.org/donate
