Helen P. Kee, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 20, 2025. She was 91. She lived a life filled with love, adventure, and devotion to those she cherished most. Growing up in Waukegan, Illinois - Helen was the daughter of Finnish immigrants, Arvi and Fanny Pynnonen. Helen was a proud graduate of the University of Miami, where she studied music and education. Helen was married to Thomas B Kee, Sr , who preceded her in death, and was survived by her 3 children, Carolyn Kee Barton, Thomas Kee, Jr and Linda Kee Rakitin. As a grandmother of four, she found immeasurable joy in celebrating each of their milestones and successes. Her spirit was one of kindness, curiosity, and generosity. Those who knew her will remember her laughter, her compassion, and her ability to make everyone feel special in her presence. Helen’s legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and in the family who will carry her memory forward. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
