

After moving to Staten Island in 1969, he earned his Associate degree from the former Richmond College and his Bachelor’s degree in Business from the College of Staten Island. Recreationally, Kevin was very involved in soccer while living on the Island. He served as secretary of the Staten Island Soccer League from 1982 to 1985, and as league president from 1985 to 1989. He also founded the first girl's soccer travel team and the girls first indoor soccer team in the borough. More than 4,000 children playing and over 200 teams took part in soccer games at Miller field under the auspices of the league. He lived in Prince’s Bay until 1990, when he relocated to Florida. On the Island, Kevin was a parishioner of St. Joseph-St. Thomas R.C. Parish, Pleasant Plains. In Boca Raton, he attended Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church.
Through the years his recreational sports included hand ball, racquet ball, soccer, tennis, sky diving,sailing and was a PADI Dive Master. Kevin was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he got the opportunity. Tops on his list were soccer, football, NASCAR. His favorite pursuits were reading WWII stories and researching historical militaria, coin collecting, model trains, ocean activities and traveling. Kevin was content to enjoy his hobbies alone but was also willing to share his knowledge with others as he did often. Even though the circle of friends were somewhat small, it was a strong and loyal group, and Kevin liked nothing better than to spend his free time with them. Kevin was well known for always being up front and open, never hiding his true feelings, qualities that drew deep loyalty from his friends because they understood and appreciated him for the person he was.
Kevin appreciated the occasions when he was able to travel and get away on a vacation with his family. He enjoyed learning about different locales and was open to exploring new and different places. Favorite vacation spots included Melbourne Beach, Florida loved the rough surf, Washington, DC and all it's history, Savannah, Georgia with the charm, good food and beauty. He thoroughly enjoyed the task of gathering and analyzing travel information as he prepared for an upcoming trip
Surviving are Virginia (Ginger) his devoted wife of 42 years and his loving children, Jeannine and Sean.
The funeral was Feb. 25, with a mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The Babione Funeral Home, Boca Raton, handled arrangements, including cremation.
