

Juanita L. Isnardi, a former longtime Vice-President of financial services for Citibank passed away peacefully in her Boca Raton home, surrounded by family members on the evening of Wednesday, February 16th at the age of 96.
The successful, self-made corporate executive was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on June 1925 to Theofilo Gomez Vega and Constancia Garcia, immigrants from Spain. At an early age she married Luis Norberto Lopez Isnardi, Sr. with whom she had three children, Luis Norberto Jr., Monica J. Isnardi and C. Sandra Lopez-Isnardi.
The family moved from Argentina, and they established their longtime residence in the United States. Settling first in Manhattan and then in the borough of Queens, where her youngest child, Sandra Lopez-Isnardi, was born.
While employed in the banking industry, she continued her education by taking evening courses at NYU and Pace. She was ultimately called to the Park Avenue Headquarters Central of Citibank where her financial acumen was readily acknowledged by her progressive rise through the ranks of Citibank’s credit officers.
Her world-wide travels propelled when Citibank chose her to be the Credit Officer of their branch in Tunis. From there she took the opportunity to visit Egypt, Algiers, Morocco, Kenya, as well as China where she visited the Great Wall. She went to Athens, France and Italy many times. One of her trips was interrupted by the terrible news of the passing of her son, Luis.
She left the Middle East and went to Puerto Rico, where she served more than six years to become the Director of Citibank Latino American Training Center. She finally settled in Boca Raton, Florida, where she continued as a consultant and a translator for Citibank. After the ferocious hurricane Wilma came, she moved to Cary, North Carolina where she lived for ten years. She ultimately returned to Florida to settle in West Boca Raton in 2016 where she made her last home.
She is survived by her two daughters, Monica Isnardi, a tax consultant and financial advisor, C. Sandra Lopez-Isnardi, an accomplished professor of Graphic Arts and Photography and spouse Barbara Burdick. She is also survived by her devoted twenty-year companion and caregiver, Dr. Thomas E. Vesce, Professor Emeritus Mercy College, NY.
Juanita was also grandmother to her son’s two daughters: Mia Isnardi-Shook and spouse Travis Shook of Seattle, Washington, and great grandmother to her two adult daughters, Taylor and Madison, and to Adriana Grieco and spouse John Grieco of Sacramento, California, and great grandmother to her two adult children, Antonia and Luis and spouse Mylah Grieco and great-great-grandmother to Luis’s son, Holden.
Juanita is also survived by her niece, Monica Casciaro (Leo Casiaro) of Buenos Aires, Argentina and was great-aunt to her five children.
