
Patrick was a kind and humble man. Originally born in Aruba, Netherlands Antilles, on November 14, 1953 to Emerita and Thomas Viapree, Patrick migrated to the United States at the age of 5. Patrick lived in Brooklyn New York, and Queens, where he studied Radio and TV Production at New York Institute of Technology. After finishing school Patrick went to work for American Express. Patrick also had many hobbies, but his favorite was playing the keyboard and organ. His passion would lead him to play with a many different bands in New York over the years. In 1975, Patrick got married to Merle Jagbir and was blessed with a son, Edson, on March 20, 1983. A few years later, Patrick started working as a volunteer paramedic for Bellmore and Aquaduct Race Track. In 1987, Patrick moved his family to Florida while still working for American Express. He continued with his hobby as a keyboard player and organist for a band called “ Innuendo”. Patrick didn’t stop there as his passion for music & the arts eventually led him to be the Associate Technical Director & Lighting Designer for a touring company of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Patrick’s role would later expand to work at Public Theatre of Greater Ft. Lauderdale, Bailey Concert Hall and the Miami City Ballet Company. In 1992, Patrick started attending First Assembly of God in Boca Raton. He was brought up loving and serving the Lord his whole life. Patrick started serving as a Royal Ranger Senior Commander & Crusaders leader for Outpost 77 in Boca Raton, where he helped young boys build Christian character and provided mentorship. While attending church, Patrick also realized a need for quality audio and visual services for local churches and ministries. Patrick started a production company called, PV Stage Lighting & Sound. PV Stage would eventually provide audio and stage lighting services for many churches and businesses in the South Florida area. Later Patrick moved to Real Life Church in Coconut Creek. While managing a production company Patrick still enjoyed playing the keyboard and organ at his church.
Patrick Viapree is survived by his mother Emerita, wife Merle, son Edson, his daughter in-law Mindy and granddaughter, Jordyn.
