Marilyn Bower

Marilyn was born on May 30, 1951, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Skura) Stabulis and has one surviving sister Denise Stabulis. After graduating from Wyoming Valley West High School in Kingston, PA in 1969, Marilyn went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education at Bloomsburg University. This qualification enabled her to pursue a career as an educator in both Pennsylvania and Florida.

Marilyn shared 49 enjoyable years of marriage with Larry Bower. Marilyn was deeply dedicated to her family, especially her two daughters: Emily Downes (married to Daniel) from Ocala, FL, and Jillian Concepcion (married to Oliver) from Washington, DC. She was also a proud grandmother of Kristian (with Lacey), Zachary, Chelsea, Avery, and Emery.

Marilyn was an ESE specialist for Broward County Public Schools, served as a eucharistic minister at St. John the Evangelist and St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, PA., and was devoted to supporting charities such as Boca Helping Hands and Birthline/Lifeline Catholic Charities, always putting others before herself.

Marilyn enjoyed reading, solving word puzzles and daily bible study. She loved caring for her orchids and attending shows, sharing spring breaks and vacations with her grandchildren, walking on the beach with her husband, and traveling to new places together after retiring. Above all else, spending meaningful time with family was what she treasured most.
