Mary A. (Democritos) Kumaras

Mary was married to Michael James Kumaras (deceased). She was very active in the Greek Orthodox Church, serving the communities of Annunciation in Jersey City, NJ, St. George in Clifton, NJ, St. Barbara in Toms River, NJ, St. Demetrios in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and St. Mark in Boca Raton, FL. Several years ago she was honored by Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta for her more than 50 years of service to the Church.

Mary is survived by her children Aphrodite Petinakis and her husband Peter, Marika Bougdanos and her husband Theodosios and James Kumaras and his wife Kathi, grandchildren Stephanie and her husband James, Constantine, Tina and her husband Shawn, Michael, and great-granddaughter Sofia.

A memorial (Trisagion) service will be held on Saturday, January 4th at 3:30 PM at Babione – Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida. Funeral services will be held at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 2200 Church Road, Toms River, New Jersey on Tuesday, January 7th at 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to either St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church in Boca Raton, FL or St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River, NJ or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
