Philippians 2:21
Our precious mother, Odette Karram-Josephs, born in Choueifat, Lebanon, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on October 17, 2011.
“Heavenly minded people do the most earthly good.”1 Always heavenly minded, her faith affected everything she did. Artist, entrepreneur, Bible teacher, mentor and founder of Girls’ Town Jamaica, Mrs. Josephs impacted the lives of many.
She leaves sons, Kamaal, Tony (Patricia); daughters, Paula (Charles) Gast and Kaye (Richard) Hanna; sister, Alice Barbar; brother, Elias (Althea) Karram; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She loved us all well, family and friends, through teaching, good food, correction, fruit from her garden, refreshing honesty and her zeal for life.
Her last instructions were that we celebrate with her the reward of her faith – to see Jesus face to face and worship at God’s throne. We can only imagine the amazing love and grace being lavished on her as she celebrates!
‘I want God to get all the glory. Don’t be sad, though you will. Instead, rejoice that I am reunited with my Savior and loved ones in heaven.’
Her deepest desire was that all her loved ones would similarly encounter the Lord Jesus who had transformed her and caused her to triumph. She shared God’s longing for all to receive Jesus Christ and be transformed into his image.
She lived Christ before us.
Now she has gained amazing grace.
