
Peter James Farrell (Jr.) passed away on March 15, 2021 at his home in Boca Raton, Florida, where he had been a resident for 29 years. Born May 11, 1928, in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late Peter (Pete) J. Farrell and Jane Wynne Farrell.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Anne Farrell Winter, and his brothers James Peter Farrell and John Bernard Farrell, and also by his ex-wife Sarah Louise Phillips Farrell.
Peter lived “a gorgeous life” with a long career in the military, serving in the Navy, then the Air Force, and later in the civil service, travelling all around the world as part of his duties as the Director of Education in the Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Hall Farrell, his sister Jane Farrell, his daughters, Deborah Farrell of Aspen, Colorado, Pamela Beth Johnson of Tacoma, Washington, Barbara Farrell Sabia of West Melbourne, Florida, Cynthia Farrell of Palm Springs, California, and Nara Farrell of Ontario, Canada, step-daughters, Wendi Lyn Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia, Nancy Beth Miller of Canton, Connecticut, and Rebecca Leslie Lynch of Boca Raton, Florida, and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
At Peter’s request, his body will be donated to the University of Miami for scientific study. He loved to lead and to teach in life, and will continue that legacy in death. In remembrance, the family encourages you to share what you have learned, and learn and remember what has been shared.
