It is with great sadness that the family of Phyllis Alaimo announces her passing on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the age of 78 years. Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved first born child, their son Joe, 10 years ago after his yearlong battle with Leukemia. Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her husband & best friend of 58 years. Joe, their daughter, Kim Ellen Foster and their beloved grandson, Mark Foster. She is survived by her brother, Joe (Kathy) Streppone, sister’s Gloria Kostrzecha, Barbara (Peter) O’Hara, a number of beloved nephews, nieces and some very special cousins as well as some very special friends.
Phyllis and her husband Joe have known each other almost their entire lives and loved each other almost as long. They were boyfriend and girlfriend as little children, she actually rode on the back of his tricycle. They were each other’s 1st kiss as little children and they were partners in church as they walked down the aisle to receive their 1st Holy Communion. The only other girl in their 2nd grade class to receive a Valentine’s card was Phyllis, from Joe and she threw it on the floor. But that 71 year old card is still around in a box. Their families moved away from each other when they were young teenagers and saw each other again after Joe was discharged from the Navy in 1958 and almost immediately became an item. Soon they were engaged and a year later they were married and have been happily married for 58 years. Phyllis led a charmed life until the death of her son, but through it all, they had each other and she was very happy.
A Visitation will be held at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Federal Hwy., Boca Raton, FL 33432 on Monday and Tuesday August 27th & 28th from 2-4 and 6-8 with a Wake Service on Tuesday at 7pm.
