

Robert Dickson Armstrong passed away December 24, 2014 at home with his family in Boca Raton, Florida. He was raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas where he was active in the Boys and Girls Club, played High School Football, was a Golden Gloves Boxer and an avid water skier. He attended the Universities of Arkansas and Louisiana at Lafayette where he played football and was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He graduated with a degree in Marketing and Business, and later attended Law School.
Robert was a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy. He was a Naval Aviator in Fighter Squadron VF-103 "Sluggers," served on the USS Forrestal and USS Allagash aircraft carriers, he was also a Navigator, Avionics Weapons and Intelligence Officer, traveling to all points of the world throughout his military service. Following the Navy, Robert began a career in Investment Banking. He was a Vice President in Chase Manhattan Bank's Capital Markets Group and several other major institutions. While at Chase he served as the Financial Advisor to several States, Counties and Cities. He later became the CEO of a Global Factoring Company. Robert loved to fly planes, sail and race his boats on Long Island Sound and the Caribbean Islands with his family.
He lived in Arkansas, Tennessee, Indiana, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida. Robert and his wife of 34 years, Patricia Brazelton Armstrong, moved to Florida in 1985. He was a four-term Deacon and member of First Presbyterian Church in Delray Beach. Robert and Patricia have a son Jordon David Armstrong and daughter-in-law Kate Reynolds Armstrong also of South Florida. He is predeceased by his parents George Robert and Ollie Mae Armstrong, and his in-laws Robert and Marcia Brazelton. He is survived by his wife Patricia and his seven children: Jordon David, Garth Warren, Brandy Candace, Shawn Heather, Amber Dawn, Aeron Brianna, Monika Patrice and 15 grandchildren.
Robert will receive a military burial at the South Florida National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 17 at 2:00 pm at Boca Country Club (17751 Boca Club Boulevard, Boca Raton, FL 33487).
