

Ruth E. McAdam of Boynton Beach and formally of Fort Lauderdale passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019. She was 95. Ruth was born in Pittsburg, PA on December 31, 1923 a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Jane Patterson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William (Bill) Connelly McAdam, son-in-law Richard George Cooper and her grandson, Douglas Richard Cooper.
Ruth worked in retail sales many years and was repeatedly recognized for her customer service efforts. Enjoying her sons' sports activities (especially baseball and football) occupied much of her time. As her oldest granddaughter became a Fast pitch softball player throughout her Rec, Travel, High School and College career Ruth became her number one cheerleader.
Later Ruth became an avid professional football (Dolphins) and baseball (Marlins) fan and always anxiously awaited the opening of each season. Her other passions included her collections of designer dolls, doll houses (made lovingly by Ruth and Bill), Scottish Santas, thimbles that were collected from various travels, and family pictures.
Surviving Ruth are a Daughter Janet Cooper, Sons Robert McAdam (Sandi), William McAdam, and Bruce McAdam (Melisa), Erwin Eugene Patterson (brother), 2 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 10 great-grand children, 4 nieces, and 2 nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens North, 200 West Copans Rd., Pompano Beach, FL, 33064
