Stanley Martin Lerman passed away peacefully on April 24, 2022 with his wife by his side after a brief battle with cancer. Stan was born on August 16, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York. He was a lifelong Yankees and Giants fan even after moving across several states.
In 1967 Stan met the love of his life, Terry Compitello, while playing the keyboards as part of the band at a local dance. They were married on September 12, 1970. An early highlight of their life together was attending all three days of the original Woodstock concert.
Stan earned a Bachelor’s from Long Island University and Master’s of Sociology degree from Nova University. He was an avid fan of music and trivia, watching and answering most Jeopardy questions until the end.
Stan’s greatest joy was his two children and three grandchildren. Stan and Terry raised their children in Sunrise, Florida and were proud of their accomplishments. During the past two years they were happy to have everyone together in South Florida and able to celebrate many birthdays, holidays and milestones together.
Stan is survived by his wife Terry, sister Joan Feldman, son Brett, son-in-law Tom Goila, grandchildren Ashlyn, Thomas and Max and his beloved dog Mojo. He was preceded in death by his parents Max and Sara, sister Harriet Lipman and his daughter Lorelei Goila.
A celebration of life will be held at Babione Funeral home in Boca Raton, on Friday April 29 from 3-6 pm, with a brief service at 4:00. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Stan’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
