

Virginia W. Sauer, born October 17, 1918, in Hamilton, Ohio, died May 26, 2012, of natural causes in Delray Beach, Florida. She was predeceased by her parents, Mabel and Marc Welliver; husband, Arthur W. Sauer; son, Richard A. Sauer; sisters, Betty Welliver, Marcia Welliver Beckett, and Dorothy Welliver Frazer; and brother, Robert Welliver. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Welliver Howe and Patricia Welliver Marshall; brother, Cmdr. Marc E. Welliver (Ret.); daughters, Jean Sauer DeFrances (Boca Raton) and Pat Sauer (Cape Canaveral); daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Sauer; grandsons Bryan DeFrances (Tracey) and Daniel Augustyniak (Shelby); granddaughter, Christi Sauer Chilton (Andrew); six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sauer moved, with her husband and family, to Melbourne Beach, Florida, from Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1957 and moved to Delray Beach in 2007 from West Melbourne. She loved to travel internationally and was active in the Seaside Peacemakers Quilt Guild and Circle of Friends in Brevard County. She was an excellent seamstress, cross-stitcher, and quilter. She will be missed greatly by her extended family.
