

He was born to Robert and Marie Leimgruber, February 13, 1916 in Zurich, Switzerland, the fifth of eight children. In 1939, at the age of 23, he was sent to the United States by a Swiss company, Wollgarn, to start a hand knitting yarn company called Spinnerin Yarn. It grew to 400 employees in South Hackensack, NJ. He then became president of Pharr Yarn Sales in New York City.
Werner was married to Vera Mae Cimarik in Akron, Ohio on October 8, 1944. They lived in Tenafly and Alpine, New Jersey until 1989 when they moved to Boca Raton. Vera Mae preceded him in death in 1997. Werner is survived by his 5 children and their spouses; Renee Leimgruber, Jeffrey and Patricia (Kinkel) Leimgruber, Nanette (Leimgruber) and Michael Maletich, Robert and Anne (Harris) Leimgruber, Carol (Leimgruber) and Mark Hrubik as well as 11 grandchildren, their 8 spouses and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his youngest brother Ernst Marc Leimgruber in Switzerland.
Besides being a devoted and Godly family man, Werner was a business executive, a lay pastor in the Apostolic Christian Church in Woodcliff Lake, NJ and Coconut Creek, Florida, a bible scholar, bible conference speaker and an accomplished classical pianist. He established the Friendship Foundation, a charitable foundation from which he contributed to a variety of organizations and blessed many individuals. He loved playing tennis, long hikes and organizing week-long family reunions for 23 consecutive years.
Werner leaves a legacy of integrity, honesty, generosity and a deep abiding relationship with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, July 20, from 10:00-11:00am followed by a funeral service at 11:00am at Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33432.
