Barbara Ann Gunter

She was born on August 24, 1929 in Atlanta, GA. Daughter of the late Wayman Wilkerson and Julia Lenora Wilkerson. Barbara was an active member of the Jones Memorial Methodist Church in Forest Park, GA, participating in the choir for over 60 years. Always active in the community, she would volunteer her time for worthy causes.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Milton Gunter. Survivors include her sister, Angela O’Kelly of Dawsonville, GA, Two daughters; Tina Gunter Knox and her husband, Dwight Knox and Angela Gay Gunter all of Bolivia, NC. Grandchildren: Clint Knox and his wife Paula, their two sons: Colby and Mason Knox; Amy Knox Clemmons and her husband Brian Clemmons, their children: Lucas, Abby, Joseph, and Aidan Clemmons; Wes Knox and his wife Amanda Knox, their children: Josh and Lily Knox; Cody Knox and Dustin Knox. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2919 Galloway Road, Bolivia, NC 28422. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Anthony Clemmons officiating.

A graveside service will follow at Mercer Cemetery in Bolivia, NC.
