

Bernice Irene Cordle age 81 went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, the first of October, 2016 at 5:18 AM with her loving daughter by her side. She resided in Supply, NC formerly of Chillicothe, OH. She was born on December 3, 1934 to the late Forrest W. and Mary E. Brown Dearth in Ross County, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty two years, Okey Cordle, whom she married on September 13, 1957. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters, Mary Leona Fannin, Betty Krafthefer, Forrest “Sonny” Dearth, Shirley Gregory, Clinton Dearth, Echo Victoria Downs, Charles Dearth and Robert Dearth.
Survivors include her daughter, Terri (Larry) Speakman, three loving grandchildren, Zach, Courtney, and Hannah; four brothers and three sisters, Alexander (Sarah) Dearth of Portsmouth, OH, Donald (Wanda) Dearth of Glouster, OH, Peggy Pauley of Frazeysburg, OH, Howard (Linda) Dearth of Salisbury, NC, Marilyn “Vonnie” (Jim) Watson of Kings Mountain, NC, Keith (Shirley) Dearth of Kingston, OH and Joy (Talmage) Gue of Columbus, OH.
Bernice loved her family and enjoyed food, especially dessert. She retired in 1997 from Hills Department Store in Chillicothe, OH. She moved to the Carolinas in March of 2008 to live with her daughter and grandchildren. She attended First Baptist Church of Shallotte up to when her health prevented it. She is greatly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Free Holiness Mission Church, 852 Monroe Avenue, Chillicothe, OH. A Celebration of life will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the Shallotte First Baptist Church.
